We present a memorable speech by Professor Sreto Tanasic, senior researcher at the Institute of the Serbian Language of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, about the deceased Serbian Аcademician Predrag Piper. The famous  Serbian expert in Slavonic Studies, permanent member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Professor Predrag Piper died on September 9, 2021. He was one of the most prominent Serbian expert in Slavonic Studies and left a special mark in the study of grammatical and lexical semantics in Serbian, Russian and other Slavic languages. Academician Predrag Piper has been an honorary member of the Society of specialists of Russian studies of Bulgaria since 1990. Bulgarian specialists of Russian studies mourn the death of the remarkable scientist Predrag Piper.
