From 14 to 17 November 2019, a significant event for Bulgarian teachers of Russian language – advanced training for teachers of Russian in Bulgaria “Russian language and culture: modern trends in methods of teaching Russian language” was held, organized by the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) and the Federal State-funded Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow State Pedagogical University” (MSPU), the Institute of Philology.
The head of the project is Professor, Dr.Sc. (Pedagogy) Olga Nikolaevna Levushkina – head of the Center of Russian language and culture A. F. Losev, Institute of Philology of Moscow State Pedagogical University. The event was held in two formats: in the distance on the theme “Modern socio-cultural space: language-text-personality” (October 23, 2019; November 11, 2019) and in the face-to-face from November 14 to 17, 2019, which was held in the Russian Сultural and Information Center (RCIC) in Sofia.
On November 14, 2019, the opening of the major event took place in the small hall of the RCIC. The event was opened by Olga Shirokova – acting head of Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Bulgaria. The head of the project, prof. O. N. Levushkina, told about the objectives of the event and read a welcoming speech of the rector of MSPU, Professor, corresponding member of RЕA of the Russian Federation A. V. Lubkov. Congratulations were made by S. Pochecanska – expert of the Ministry of education and science of Bulgaria. The presentation of the activities of the Institute of Philology of MSPU and the Center for Russian language and culture Losev – Institute of Philology of MSPU took place. Bulgarian Teachers of Russian language got acquainted with the new Russian language textbooks of the Institute of Philology of MSPU. Prof., Dr.Sc. (Philology) D.A. Osilbekova gave a lecture “Russian language in the 21st century: the main trends of development”. Prof., Dr.Sc. (Philology) D.V. Paul gave a lecture “Modern Russian literature: the main names, trends”.
In the end of the lesson prof. O. N. Levushkina generalized listened to two lectures, stressing the connection between the development of the modern Russian language and modern Russian literature.
On November 15, 2019, the first Еxhibition of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia was held in the RCIC. 12 Russian universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ivanovo, Orel and Lipetsk presented their Educational Programs and opportunities for free training of Bulgarian citizens. The Lecturers of MSPU took part in the work of the First Educational Exhibition of Russian Universities in RCIC, successfully presenting their University. In the small hall classes continued with the lecture by Prof. D. A. Osilbekova “Russian and Bulgarian language: points of contact” and the lecture by Ass. Prof., Ph.D. in Pedagogy O.Y. Rjauzova “Teaching problem areas of grammar”
On November 16, 2019, classes continued with lectures by Prof. O. N. Levushkina and Ass. Prof. O.Y. Rjauzova dedicated to the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The lesson “Russian folk costume”was considered and commented on. The methods of working with Russian folk tales at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language were considered.
On November 17, 2019, a Round Table on “Actual problems of teaching Russian as a foreign language in Bulgaria” was held. Master classes on “Works of Russian literature in teaching Russian as a foreign language” and “Realization of the dialogue of cultures based on the work with the text in teaching Russian as a foreign language” were held with Lecturers: Prof. D.V. Paul, Prof. O. N. Levushkina, as well as a master class on linguodidactic testing of schoolchildren and students – Ass. Prof. O.Y. Rjauzova.
Prof. O. N. Levushkina summed up the event. Certificates of advanced training were handed over in a solemn atmosphere.
Bulgarian teachers of Russian language who took part in the MSPU project had a happy opportunity to immerse themselves in the Russian language and Russian culture. They listened to wonderful lectures and passed master classes at a high professional level.
